Community EntryWho May Live at The Community
The Sacramento Ananda Community in Rancho Cordova welcomes individuals or families who would like to experience spiritual living in an intentional community. One or two-bedroom units are available. If you would like specific details about the community or would like to arrange a visit, please contact Community Manager at the Ananda Center.

For more information about our community, see the Living in Community page. We look forward to sharing this spiritual adventure with you!

Opportunities for residency vary but all that are sincere are welcome. Most residents have active membership in the Ananda Sangha (Ananda fellowship).

Activities and Decision-Making
Individuals participate in community activities as much or as little as, they like. There is no requirement for involvement; each person gives and receives according to their own inclinations. Decision-making is cooperative and takes place at the lowest level, closest to the project or issues involved. The community is cooperative, not communal. Donations and tithes are voluntary.

Common Areas
Shared community spaces include:

1) A large dining room and kitchen, called the "Lotus Café," where interested members share meals. Entrance to Meditation Garden

2) A meditation temple with group meditations, weekdays, 5am-7am, with a chanting break at 6am. The community temple is open for use 24 hours a day.

3) An organic garden. Produce is used by the Lotus Cafe.

4) A meditation garden used for individual meditations and community events.
