The goal of this two-part workshop is two-fold. To demystify the chakras by providing an in-depth look at the blueprint for our physical body, psyche and emotional being and to gain a practical working knowledge of these energy centers that greatly assist our growth on all levels.

How To Meditate
Tuesdays, May 6, 13, 20 & 27, 7:30 – 9 pm, $48
Meditation is the most direct means of experiencing our more spiritual nature. Greater concentration, creativity, peace and joy are the fruits of regular meditation. These simple, proven, effective techniques allow you to lift your mind to a place of peace, inspiration and joy. We will practice deep breathing, energization exercises, visualization and learn a time-tested meditation technique of concentration.

Cycles of TimeByasa Steinmetz

Plus workshops on How to Meditate, Music Imagery, Spirit-in-Nature Essences and Divine Will Healing. A delicious vegetarian salad-bar lunch will be served. Full, or half-day passes available. $75 (with advance purchase) $80 at the door, buys a full-day pass good for up to 3 classes or workshops, the equivalent of 1 hour of healing sessions, lunch and a gift. Half-day passes are $45 (with advance purchase) $50 at the door, includes up to 2 classes or workshops, 30 minutes of healing and a gift. Kirtan with White Light Kirtan Band (Living Wisdom High School Students from Ananda Village)

Refreshments and sharing after the kirtan.

The White Light Kirtan Band is made up of High School students from Ananda Living Wisdom High School at Ananda Village. They will lead a kirtan/meditation from 6 to 8:30pm followed by a social time to meet with the students. The band has been playing together for over two years and has previously performed in Sacramento, Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, San Francisco and Ananda Village. They were Krishnadas's special guests at one of his concerts last fall and will be traveling on to Palo Alto after their performance here to create a CD of their music. Local members of the band are Ken Macahilas and Evan Molina.

World Brotherhood Day Celebration

A delicious Italian Banquet, prepared by Ananda Devotees will be followed by a delightful evening of entertainment in the beautiful Babaji Meditation Garden.
This event is one of our primary fundraisers to support Yogananda’s work here in Sacramento. People traditionally offer 1-day’s wages. Every gift of love is deeply appreciated.

The Yamas and Niyamas are the first two limbs of Patanjali's map to awakening consciousness, called Ashtanga Yoga or the 8-Limbed Path. They concern the behaviors and attitudes that exist to assist us in recognizing the fundamental truth of our own nature, which is essential to achieving liberation.

Our movements and meditations will be geared toward cultivating devotion and surrendering to our highest potential. This very inspiring approach affects healing, upliftment and acceptance of all that is.

Yoga for the Chakras

The chakras, the subtle centers in the deep spine, hold the key to our spiritual growth. This morning of yoga postures will be specifically designed to awaken and stimulate the energy in the chakras, allowing it to flow freely and lift our consciousness to the higher realms of our being.

Practicing the Essence of the Bhagavad Gita
Saturday, August 9, 2 – 4:30 pm, $30
The Essence of the Gita comes to life through Ananda yoga. Select postures will address themes from the Bhagavad Gita such as developing will power, tuning into higher guidance, heightening receptivity, right action, and the soul is eternal. Yoga is indeed a great teacher!
