How to Meditate
These techniques are scientifically proven. You will find them a great asset in your efforts to control the mind and still the thoughts. We offer a weekly series and Saturday workshops on a regular basis. See our events page for a schedule of current classes and events. How to Meditate is the first in our series of meditation classes. In this class we learn what meditation is, how to do it and why, and practice the Hong Sau technique together. We discuss developing the habit of regular meditation and how to calm the mind, relax the body and overcome restlessness. Subsequent meditation classes include Deepening Your Meditation, Guru-Disciple Relationship and for those who are interested we offer Discipleship Initiation, the Aum Technique and, finally, Kriya Prep for those who are interested in Kriya Initiation. Kriya Yoga, the highest technique we offer, as Paramhansa Yogananda said, is the airplane route to Self-realization. "In meditation, try to go beyond thinking. As long as thoughts enter the mind, you are functioning on the conscious level. When your consciousness withdraws still more deeply into superconsciousness, then you are centered in bliss."
