Swami Sri Yukteswar meets Babaji at the Kumbha Mela in Allahabad. |

Sri Yukteswar initiates Yogananda into the Giri order of swamis, founded by Shankara in the 8th century. |

Yogananda establishes his first ashram, in Calcutta, India. |
